Plastic everywhere.

In Bury, they only recycle plastic bottles. All other types of plastic, including bottle tops, go in the unrecyclable grey bin. So if you want to recycle other types of plastic, tough shit.

Then they wonder why people are cynical.

55% of recycled material goes to landfill mate.

For me,the straw that broke the camels back was kitkats doing away with the foil and paper wrappers and going full on plastic. Oh the days of excitedly ripping the paper off, then sliding your nail down the fingers and denting the foil so it was easier to break off, then the smell of that tasty morsel wafted up your expectant nostrils, then snap! You broke off the first finger and unwrapped the shiny inviting foil. The actual eating the thing was a right anti climax tbh.

Jublees used to come in paper too, now all manufacturers wrap everything in plastic. Not to mention popping a fresh jar of coffee with the foil as tight at a drum, it's all baggy now.

That coffee smash is another little thing I liked. But I stopped drinking it years ago so I wouldn't know it's gone all west brom.
