The teams doing well why should we alter it to accomodate a player whos performance or temperament are subject to such change. Its our first major test of the season, Balotelli needs to show he is prepared to knuckle down and behave in a manner which will benefit the team before gaining a chance.
How do you expect him to show this if he can't even be given a chance when it really matters. Not to mention in training reports, his mentality is at a high.

First major test of the season? Don't act like Balo can't play. Ran rings around Chelsea for Inter.

Seen the txt from Mancini instructing someone to ensure Balo is at training by 9;30, he (Balo) strolled out of his apartment block at 10 to 10 and thought a volley of ''uckin game on' was hilarious.

Does anybody on here really rate Balo as a wide player? Don't get me wrong I'm not a mario hater, rated him since his inter days but he doesn't seem to have the right attributes to beat a man and cut inside or get to the byline a la AJ. The games he's played up top(semi final, west brom away) he's looked a completely different player, being able to use his strength, pace and finishing ability to score and create chances

God help our full backs up against Bale and Ekotto, Lennon and Walker if we opt for that line up

As opposed to? Spurs will destroy us if we play 3 defensive midfielders, they crumble when you press them high up the pitch and the ball retention we possess in the final 3rd will have them on the back foot - I'll wager you now that there full backs will rarely move over the half way line, and I'm sincerely looking forward to Richards v bale, there will be more than enough cover for Lennon, in a nutshell we attack and we win, sit- we get beat.

Unless Dzeko / Aguero are tired you cannot change a winning team. I wouldn't even drop Barry or Milner right now. Tevez, our leading goalscorer for two seasons running, is confined to bench duties - enough said!

Thank fuck that football teams are run by professionals and not picked in this manner.

"I've got a feeling he will want to prove himself, despite his last performance (and many others over the last year) saying totally the opposite, drop some players who have been outstanding for him"

FFS!

Again, another example of fanboys getting caught up in the Balotelli persona.

Does anyone really think that you would see a similar thread about Milner, Barry, Savic, Clichy, Kolarov, etc?

Of course you wouldn't, because even though those players have shown during their time here that they are much, much, much more likely to be professional and 'desperate to prove themselves' when out of the team, they wouldn't receive such sentiments as they haven't got legions of fanboys desperate for their hero badboy to prove their nonsense about him being the best player in the world and 'entertain' them by acting the big man.

Im not saying he should start at WHL but one thing Balotelli did show last season is that he's a big game player, his performances in the Cup SF and Final surely proved that.

It's the perfect game for balo to come in and I won't be surprised in the slightest if he starts, again we are seeing some great man management from bob, unleash the beast.......

Shame it's the usual suspects who don't quite grasp things - balo is a big game player, and the charity shield doesn't qualify in this kids mind. The atmosphere of the lane, the sniping by the yids will just turn him from banna to hulk, it's not ideal but it's who he is, we need to utilise this -

fucking Wigan at home, Might as well start with 10 men.

play spurs at there own game and we will smash them with quality we have in the final 3rd

The only person not quite grasping things is you. You now want to play a narrow formation against a team who will exploit us out wide. We wont smash them if we play like that, and i cant see Bob thinking that it would.

Amazing to think that anybody would want Balotelli to start after the performances of our forwards in the Swansea and Bolton games. Then add in his performance in the Charity Shield game and you somehow think, play Balotelli against Spurs. :)
