I suspect RM will stick with Dzeko Aguero up front against spurs but would not be surprised if he went with 1 up front (Dzeko) and played Aguero in the hole behind him. Would have prob played Nasri in that role if we'd got him a few weeks earlier...

Football's a holistic sport. If the opposition do this; It's better if you do that. I'm not necessarily claiming that the team will change but the methodology will almost certainly change. I think it's imperative Balotelli plays. Mitigating the wide play makes spurs a different team and I'll be eager to see his capabilities when playing out wide.

Well from Wigan onwards it'll be rotation to one extent or another for as long as we're in the CL so we can forget the "why change a winning team" mentality.

Spuds is a massive game and whilst this lot are all fit I cannot think of any reason for changing the team for this game.
Completely agree the squad rotation will kick in thereafter, particularly against the lesser sides, but against the top 4 contenders we should play our best form 11 at that time. That is why I would not change things at the mo.
The depth in strength of our squad will be critical once all the other comps kick into place.

I am not against playing Balo from the off against Spurs. He is a quality player, will be champing at the bit and keen to show that he should be in the starting line up after sitting out so far. I can also see the value in sticking with what has served us well in the opening two games. Either way, we win. Up to Mancini to call it right.

i know some people here would get mad on me but balotelli brings a bag full of controversy wid him..everytime he is substituted/booked , the next day news papers mention more about his drama and how city camp is divided rather than mentioning our victory..

i want bobby to be our ferguson/cryff/pep and for that i want players to respect him and obey him blindly.

balo is extremely talented but he needs to get his head right before getting into our first team again...everytime he plays , opposition fans point out we r not united since balo ends up fighting wid any one player/manager during game or training and this pisses me off..

also he needs to prove he is commited to us by stopping to moan in media..one day he says he loves milan, the other day he says manchester is not a gud place to live..

We will play at least 50 games this season assuming 5th round in both cups and CL group stages. We could play 60 plus.

Even if Tevez stays then we have 4 forwards (Dzeko,Balo,Tevez and Aguero)and 7 midfielders (Barry, De Jong, Toure, Milner, Nasri (assuming no last minute change), Silva, Johnson) I have assumed SWP will go.

Assuming say 56 games, and there is 6 positions available every game.

That is 56 x 6= 336 positions over a season / 11 players

30 games each.

Whether that will be enough to keep everyone happy is debatable.

What it should mean is that we will be serious contenders in ALL competions

I think it would be useful to make him prove himself in the reserves for a bit. Show him he is not a star in the most humbling of ways. He must prove his conduct on the pitch before he can be trusted in our title challenge: however he cannot be trusted to play at the highest level yet until he can demonstrate a run of good performances with no histrionics.
