Player interviews during games!

If it’s just the voiceover and the cameras stick to the action then I don’t see an issue, if the camera cuts away from the game to show the interview then there is.
How did it work in that regard? Genuine question btw.
Mostly stuck with the game. It wasn’t that bad, as you suggested, Tavernier didn’t say anything of note, so was a bit dull. Shut the commentators up for a few minutes though.

“The Premier League are also exploring in-game advertisements involving players on the pitch, such as product placements during goal celebrations, live match betting promotions from players about to take a corner, and sponsored Arteta timeouts with testimonials from the “injured” player. Lucozade, Bet365, 9.15 Fair Play, and GlaxoSmithKline, makers of Ventolin, have already shown strong interest in the scheme. The new Manchester United ownership group are reportedly especially keen to implement it with their players starting in the 2025/26 season, having already begun pursuing commercial deals with several companies, including Bayer, to advertise MiraLAX, and Tesla, to market advanced exploding vehicles.”

Hi Mr player, you're 3-0 down at half time and you gave away a penalty.
How are you feeling?
Err it’s all swings and err roundabouts innit Jeff err football is about err opinions and decisions innit errr and yeah we regroup as a errr group of you know errr lads and errrrrrrrrr we go again Jeff.

No thank you. Find the half time 'quick word with Pep' style ones annoying enough, and he's got more control towards these f**kwads asking inane questions than any pumped up player would do.

The clubs should come back and agree to it on the following conditions:

1) No consequences for anything that's said during a contracted interview.
2) Free slap of the reporter for every dumb question

Then I'd watch.

There's two easy ways of killing this. Firstly the fans turn against it. Assuming theyd be doing it live on the bench, Fans in the ground can sing explicit songs whenever its happening so that all you ever hear is swearing, they'll soon get the message, armchair fans can mute or switch off too.

Secondly the players themselves, I presume both they and the managers will not be in favour of this. Just get them to give nothing responses, 1 word answers to everything so it adds fuck all and it'll soon die. This will only live if it's allowed to.

But you forget that the Arsenal players will be queuing up to be interviewed
