I’d heard this had replaced MOTM so we’re removing the word man
Watching the end of the Liverpool derby and they have only said “ player of the match “
So they’ve clearly been instructed now not to use the word man

1. Why ?

It's shit because MOTM was presumably chosen because it sounds good. Alliteration and assonance in one. Player of the Match sounds shit.

Yes, it is getting silly. Definitely one of those things where it’s “politically correct gone mad” with people looking far too desperately into showing they’re being inclusive.

Clubs literally refer to their teams as the “Men’s Team” and “Women’s Team”



The Women’s league is literally called “The Women’s Super League”
