I’d heard this had replaced MOTM so we’re removing the word man
Watching the end of the Liverpool derby and they have only said “ player of the match “
So they’ve clearly been instructed now not to use the word man

1. Why ?
2. Are things getting just a little bit fuckin silly now ?

Yes, it is getting silly. Definitely one of those things where it’s “politically correct gone mad” with people looking far too desperately into showing they’re being inclusive.

Clubs literally refer to their teams as the “Men’s Team” and “Women’s Team”

The Women’s league is literally called “The Women’s Super League”

Men playing? Man of the match
Women playing? Woman of the match
Simple

Edit: in fact some people identify as cats or windmills so maybe it should be none of the above but simply thing of the match
It/that/thingy are my pronouns.
