Lescott all day. None of the goals conceded in March were his fault, he's been outstanding.
Chelsea 2nd goal. He was the man on Ramirez that got skinned like a ripe banana before waltzing past Kolarov for the goal. Just 2 minutes before that on a Chelsea Freekick, Essien had him beat and would have whacked a shot at our goal, if not for the timely diving header by Kolarov that slightly changed the trajectory of the ball.
Like I said, you all can vote for Lescott out some internal need to repent for calling him shaite. But the facts don't back up any of these claims. He has been decent, against a mostly offensively inept opposition in March. The only 2 games in which the opposition had any sort of offensive bite were Chelsea and sporadically Kiev away. On both occasions we lost 2 - 0. Of those 4 goals Lescott was at fault on one.
But in the only game in which their was a consistent attack mounted against us, Lescott positioning was often poor. Just go on the OS and watch the highlights. Time and time again you'd see it. Fron getting beat on a flick by Ramires, to being skinned for the goal. To being outpaced by Torres, or generally not being in the middle of the play when we are being attacked. Yes like anyone else on defense he get one or 2 big plays per night, like the off the line clearance in one of our games. But these singular instances (also often done by others) coupled with a series of headers on punts from the other team (by the way headers on punts rearly gets you possession more than 50% of the time) do not constitute a MOM performance.
I am sorry I don't give much credit for winning headers on long balls, which seems to be the only area in which he excels. Funny enough he does not excel at Headers on corner kicks, either defensive or offensive headers. So I am not just saying it to cover up some preexisting notion of him not being good. Simply put he has not been the best City player this month.
