Apart from the first half against Spurs at home and the whole game against Spurs away, he’s pretty much been excellent in every minute of every match.

It’s not about how many goals someone scores (and lack of touches doesn’t even come into it).

A goal is the just final piece of every move that makes it. The moves that make the goals are just as important as the goals.

There was a goal that was scored a few weeks ago that John Stones had about nine touches in the build up to, he didn’t get the assist or the goal but he played the biggest part in the passage of play.

And even away from goals, games are won by players dictating play and the general trend of games where City keep the ball and don’t allow the opposition to score. Rodri has been the major player in that respect for City in the last two seasons. Rodri is the engine to City’s success.

Haaland is the obvious candidate, he has ripped up this league like many of us thought he would. However, Rodri is my choice and is irreplaceable, arguably the best dm in the world. He has been immense and we would not be the same side without him.
