Player that everybody loves but you think is overrated

Alexander-Arnold really is a tough one.

To some he's the world's best, to others he's a complete liability.

He's simultaneously one of the best players in the league and one of the worst right-backs in the league.

My take - he's a world class midfielder playing out of position.
I think TAA is world class in some parts, average to below average in some parts.

World class passer/crosser imo, closest I've seen in the league who can do the long range curling passes/crosses at pace that is KDB's trademark.

As a defender, pretty average - not assertive enough, we've seen an out-of-form Sterling tear him a new one, made even worse played next to liabilities like Joe Gomez.

Personally, I can't imagine him as a defensive midfielder long term, although I think that's where he started in his youth. Seemed to lack the calmness and 'ball-retention brain' that is pivotal to centre midfield. TAA likes to toss it long as soon as he gets the ball. Maybe he will improve as he plays there more, so we'll see. Or it'd be better for TAA if he was played even higher up like an AM rather than a pivot, but Klopp likes to start his attacks deep.

Mesut Ozil was never fit to lace Silva's boots. Especially during his time at Arsenal where I thought he was downright fucking terrible.

To be fair, few, if any players are fit to lace David Silva’s boots. Not even Bernardo whom I do rate as a top player. I think the successful City team with David Silva at the heart was probably the most attractive to watch.

Always find Reece James is very over rated.
He's constantly mentioned in the conversation of best right backs in PL history. Can't think of many memorable games he's had against proper opposition.
Yes he has all the tools and potential but has it all to do in his career still for me.

He's a great player he just can't stay fit. Basically been injured all the last 2 seasons.

At this point I'd say Ivan Toney.

He's useful, don't get me wrong, but now he's being touted as a big money signing for some fairly big clubs and it just seems over the top. Guy's scored just below a goal every other game in the Prem, but take out the penalties and it's worse than 1 in 3. Plus he's 27.

If rumours were £40m and being a backup or squad player, I'd say fair enough. But the rumours (yes, they could just be bullshit agent talk) suggest £80m and that's way overrated.
