Re: Fernando

Isn't it always the same with Yaya? Takes 3, 4 or 5 games to reach his best every season but still produces the odd moment of magic like that ball to Dzeko today. He's a slow starter.

He's a big lump of meat so that's probably something to do with it.

Often seems to produce some big moments late in the season too, sometimes after looking dead on his feet the week before, as if he's about to run out of steam, then suddenly he finds it again. If you need a winning goal in a big game a week from the end of the season, would anyone back against Yaya being the bloke who scores it ?

Your studs were flying through the air that night
You timed it right, fernando
Their number ten couldn't complete a pass,
You kicked his ass, fernando
Over and out .
Brilliant!

Just a slight change to get it to scan better (and we don't want the ref thinking his studs were up at any point!),,,

You ran, blocked and tackled through that night
You timed it right, Fernando.
The number ten could not complete a pass,
You kicked his ass, Fernando.

Haven't seen any gifs of the match tbh. I've got one of a bird shitting in tom Daley's mouth if you want. Wait till TCIB gets on tomorrow.

Perhaps, then I see that pass over the top to Dzeko that led to Silva's goal and quickly realize: even when he is playing poorly, he is still a difference maker!

Fair enough but you have to admit we have two Yayas. One that is arguably the best CM in the world and the other one that showed up today. Frustrating player (both performance and attitude). I don't know of any other world class footballers that can regularly puts in such pedestrian performances.
So I take it you'd offload Yaya then BlueDeadHead you rag twat....................

Fuck you.

Re: Fernando

Brilliant debut.
If Mangala can reach his potential we will have an immense back line and DM.
So much for most of the pundits opinion that we haven't significantly strengthened our squad.
With the exception of the Mangala deal dragging on a bit it's looking like a real clinical summer in the transfer market.

Re: Fernando

Loved the performance today I agree with the opinion that he will pick up a fair few cards and think that maybe Zabaletta should take him under his wing.

When Zab first arrived at City he looked like a red card waiting to happen and IIRC he picked up a couple in his first season but is now arguably one of the best 3 right backs in the world. Although he still picks up the odd yellow he is now much more intelligent with his tackles, if Fernando can add this to his game I can see him being absolutely outstanding.

Oh and on the Yaya issue no sooner had I said to my lad that he needed a rocket up his arse at half time he played that pass to Dzeko that led to the goal so I'll take the credit for that :-)

Everyone was better than Yaya today. Fernando was tremendous. Hope Pellers has the stones to make Yaya compete for his place in the starting XI.

Yes, there is the world dominant Yaya when he is on his day, then there is the pedestrian looking version: I.e the one that showed up today. But here is the kicker, the pedestrian Yaya had more touches than anyone else on the fiel, made the immaculate pass to Dzeko, completed 92 % of his passes, recovered more balls than any other player too. So even though he looked poor to the eye, he did more than anyone else.

In the end that is the beauty of the man, even when he is average, he is better than most in most areas. Yaya!
