Letting Barry go was a huge balls up on so many levels: financially, regarding the HG quota and the most important, performances on the pitch.

Garcia played 30+ times last season in all comps and wasn't up to the level Barry was for us, and now this clown has cost us £12m, can't pass forward and his reading of the game can only be described dyslexic.

In Txiki's/fat Ferran/Pellegrini we trust? If it wasn't for the pre-three amigos signings papering over the cracks, the flawed project would have unravelled much sooner, and as that Marwood/Cook/Mancini assembled generation ages/is prematurely discarded it will be exposed for exactly how amateurish it really is.

How Soriano still has a job after walking us straight into a £50m FFP fine last summer is beyond me, in addition to spending so much on the squad without the recruits actually becoming key players. These guys are taking us for a ride, and it's a shame that it's taking so long for people who genuinely care about the club to realise it.
More garbage from this new keyboard warrior.
I'm hoping he's a wum, but I suspect he genuinely just is this weird Nick Griffin stereotype that he appears to be.

Gareth Barry the player that needs to drag down or jump in front of players in order to avoid them going past him, WOW.

Kind of has a valid point with regards to the barca boys signings. With the possible exception of Fernandinho they've not really had a single stand out success and the spine of the team is still very much built from players signed before their arrival. How much the impending ffp sanctions had to do with that is unknown but we'll find that out this summer. The rest is total garbage though, Loved Barry when he was here but it was absolutely the right time to move him on when we did despite the lack of adequate replacements. As for Soriano, he's done as well as he possibly could to reduce our debt in the time he has. The only way we were ever going to fall in line with ffp in time was to have a mass fire sale of players which would of meant no trophies in the last few years and a greatly reduced appeal, both on and off the pitch.

I don't really think the former barca boys have done that bad in the transfer window. Sagna's a great back up for Zaba, Negredo was a great signing, Navas is decent, Fernandinho is world class, Mangala is promising. My only problem is that they seem to be very reluctant when it comes to selling dead wood players. As for Fernando, I believe a youngster would probably bring a lot more to the team.

I'm a bit bemused by those posts calling him an 'impressive athlete', IMO that is the most alarming part of his game and what underpins he poor performances week in, week out. He is fairly slow, not strong enough for his position, and most importantly I'm not sure the stamina is anywhere near where it should be. As a result he is weak and cumbersome and behind the play so often. Hate to bring up de Jong again but it's hard not to when he is meant to be an upgrade: NDJ was quick, aggressive, hard as nails, a lean, mean bastard... exactly what you need for the position. Fernando is like an out of season de Jong who has been on the piss on a beach for 6 weeks.

Really very disappointed in the signing, when you thought we had finally been let off the hook with Garcia and got decent money for him, we waste it on another dud.

I thought Garcia was playing well by the end of last season. And Fernando will improve. By the end of next season he could be playing as well as Garcia was at the end of last season.

Time is something certain Blue Mooners will not allow. So if you don't cut it in the first 1/2 of the first season, your out.

All new starts should be given realistic time to either come good or then, ship out. The club will make that call when the time is right though.

Don't recall Vinnie, Merlin or more recently MDM land running.

Dont forget martin demichelis was a disgrace to the blue shirt this time last year. But then what happened? He adapted. He fucking took a grip of the back four and has been our most consistent central defender ever since hull away last season. If we are still having this same argument in 12 months time then maybe we can pass judgement. But lets give the lad a chance and judge him on the 2nd season

I agree mate. I think the word "supporter" is forgotten sometimes (myself included).
