I'd be amazed.

No newts on twatter have a lot to answer for.

Why would you be amazed?[/quote]

Bit of a quoting fail there FI , matched only by my turning 'nowts' into newts ;.)

I'd be amazed because I believe I know why he hasn't figured for the club and it's nothing more sinister than his refusal to move in the summer

It's clearly been summat that has persuaded Pellers to put him in cold storage until he could be offloaded. He looked good when he first came and we did marvel at the fact that he was only nineteen. Hope he makes an impression at Schalke. Has Cheesy been on the Schalke forums telling them how good he is??

Young defender with potential on the way out and we've spent a fortune to sign another young defender with potential.

I'll probably be shot down but I've seen nothing from Mangala which suggests he's got any greater potential than Nastasic. They're young, they make mistakes. Sometimes you have to put up with it as they develop. What will we do, write off Mangala if he makes another mistake?

I'm disappointed he's been frozen out because I always thought he could be a very good player with more experience.

I'd like to imagine we're letting him go because of the persistent injuries otherwise we're losing a young player with a lot of potential..if he goes through his loan spell without injuries then we'll know it never really was the injuries

Mangala in for 42m - Nastasic ignored and shipped out on loan. smh

Peller's biggest fuck up

Do you really think it all down to Manuel?

I'm sure Txiki and Ferran have some input too.

I find it hard to believe he's been frozen out for footballing reasons, he's become practically persona non grata.

There must be some behind the scenes reason for it and if the club and player want to keep it private that's fine by me.
He is only 21 and sometimes they just can't settle in a new country.

Good luck for the future Matija.

Remember this what MP said in the Link, very insightful reading, I don't think it's down to MP..
I'd love to know who it's down to though.

Shame - Very good player at age 19 (21 now) - Pellers didn't like him for some reason. Probably due to away mess ups in Pellers first few months. No worse than the Demichelis mess ups at the same time - a young player clearly struggling with the higher defensive line that Pellers was then using. Pellers never gave him another chance even though we never reverted to the ridiculously high defensive line that we were using at the time. There was the story of the injury, but It doesn't quite hang true to me especially as the current medical team is a downgrade on the one we won the 2011-12 Premier League with.

Schalke will get an excellent player who can only get better.

Good luck Matija

I would be highly surprised if we paid 42m for Managala.

Very strange how it has gone for Nastasic, made some calm assured performances against the very best opposition in his time here.

Yes his did have a few poor games but not that many.

Better player than both MDM and Mangala without question.

Last game of last season I sat behind a fella who said either himself or his mate were Nasti's agent, they said the problem was a persistent sist in or behind his knee. They couldn't clear it up, which backs up what Pellegrini said in above article.

I really rated him, but he did look very slow in the summer.

If he stays fit, lights the place up then he may have a futur.

We've not made many gaffs when it comes to shipping out players.
Balotelli, 'dream move' to Milan now a Liverpool sub.
De Jong, again moved to Milan, no one happy, but has gone rapidly backwards.
Rodwell & Johnson off to Sunderland to resurrect their careers. Have they? Johnson has played just 15 more games than he did at City, has never returned to the England squad. Rodwell has proved not fit for purpose.
Barry, decent season last year, much worse this.
Garcia, done ok playing in Russia.
Richards, joke.
Adebayor, joke

Tevez and Pantiman have done well.

Tevez and Pantiman have done well.

The best one has been missed off. Boating knobbed off and wins the Man of the Match award at the World Cup Final.

I liked Nastasic and thought he was very impressive for a longish time especially considering his age. If he doesn't bounce back from this then it's persistent injuries or sadly something in his character. I wish him well.

definitely not better than MdM but I would have him in the side at the present time over Mangala

Moment of true: Nastasic vs Real or Mangala vs Barcelona. There can be no excuses. I put all my money on Nastasic.
