Re: Nastasic - just what is the problem?
If Pellegrini has told him that he won't feature in his plans then Pellegrini owes him nothing.
Football is a result based business, If a Manager loses games he has his bollocks on the chopping block. Nastasic is a fish out of water in our system just like Lescott.
Doing best for your career is playing as much football as possible. In money terms it's one step back to take two steps forward. Staying to collect wages is the exact opposite of doing best for a career and is more beneficial for a bank balance. When you're such a young player, you needn't worry about money so prematurely into a career.
Also there's an element of annoyance if Nastasic staying held up another possible move that the club deemed as a better fit for the club. There's more facets to this than Pellegrini not picking him debate.
I like Nastasic and imo he will be a top player once he returns to Italy.

What if a player is told they 100% do not feature in managers plans and agent is instructed by Txiki to find a move. Club needs funds freeing up and player stays, scuppering any hopes of bringing in a fresh face or two. That player only has themself to blame, it really is that simple. If the club caves in, what's to stop others from calling bluffs from the club.
Then that player does what he feels is best for his career. If nothing suitable comes up then he has every right to stay, he is afterall under contract with us. That doesn't mean treating him like an outcast makes Pellegrini right.
