Player Thread: Patrick Roberts

Still on loan to Celtic. However, given how persistent Rogers has been in his pursuit of Scott Sinclair from Villa- three bids already- perhaps there is a chance that Roberts could return prematurely. Only a slight possibility, granted, but I cannot see Celtic forking out and then having Roberts play ahead of him. Wishful thinking on my part?
Sinclair is a left winger.

Similar style of play though.
Roberts is closer to Silva IMO, he's Silva type with pace which enables him to glide past players, not that Johnson didn't get past players but watching Roberts get past a defender is far more pleasing on the eye if you know what I mean? Not sure I explained that too well but it makes sense in my head...

Celtic's best player in the first half by a country mile. Has more ability than the other 10 Celtic players combined.

Most Celtic fans saying the same thing on their forum.

Great that he is playing well and if Celtic go through, then all the better. It would guarantee them a group stage in either CL/EL.

So I'm assuming Brendan will still fuck up somehow the home leg. :)

Great performance from Roberts, easily MOTM for me. He should be in our squad this season but heres to hoping he will get plenty of game time there and carry on improving.

Celtic staying in the Champions League will be great for him, hopefully the great through these 2 rounds and into the groups. Could be a decent partnership if Celtic do well and get Scotland's coefficient up so they automatically get a team in the groups. Granted Scotland need to make up about 17 coefficient points but Rangers being back and hopefully a good run by Aberdeen in the Europa League may help the cause. However Scotland only needs 9/10 coefficient points to get 2 teams back in the Champions League, which again might take at least 2 or 3 seasons.
