Player Thread: Patrick Roberts

Two great goals. He has incredible power in his left foot. He actually looks more of an attacking threat than Navas.

Why didn't he get a game under Pellegrini? Makes no sense considering he'll be far better than Navas.

He played away at Sunderland in the league cup, had the tricks but went down to easy, looked like he needed toughening up.

There is no way he would fit into are system, he goes forward and can beat a man .

Proper talent

This experience will probably give him that.

Roberts, Brahim, Sancho, Byrne, Denayer, Sterling and Iheanacho.... we have some future!

We wouldn't have paid as much as we did if he wasn't a big talent. lets just remember he's playing league 1 standard football before people get carried away though

And to think we have Navas getting game time................
Well, naval is a different category of player altogether.
His role, if he had stayed here, would have been to play 30 minutes at a time as a sub. Unfortunately he was well behind demichelis in the pecking order in that respect, so...

We paid £12M for him, at least we know if he doesn't make it here, Celtic would snap our hands off for him. We'll get our money back at least. I can't wait to see him back here for the 17/18 season.

With Pep, I think its as much about personality and wanting to learn as it is about raw natural talent.

Pep will do his homework on the lad and no doubt speak with him and if he thinks he can improve him and make him a part of our future he will be back, make no mistake about it.
