Player thread: Samir Nasri (2014/15)

Hate to criticise City players but as far as I am concerned his performance tonight said it all - no effort, no tracking back, no pace, no impact and very petulant

Should have got a red card, without a question of doubt. I used to defend him and it was great to see him last season and this year under Pellegrini how he improved and especially stayed consistent for most of the time with his high-level performances, but he's mainly good against lesser teams or when we're already up, it's not like he will lift us up by a margin, ever. We should thank him his great goal against Roma, but I would really appreciate if he'll just make place for a youngster (Lopes) in the summer, especially if Milner stays, which I know is beyond reach probably.

And it's not the first time his antics are like this, there was a game I can't recall now (I think a Europe game) when he lost his shit just like today when things went bad for us.

I don't particularly blame him for the first goal - yes, he left Sagna exposed but he was our furthest player on the pitch because of our attack on the right, then we've lost possession. Those who were there saw it surely better, but I think he did track back, he was just simply too far from our goal when we lost the ball.

He can be a bit of a hot head but I have no quarrels over the cheap shot he took against Neymar. The barca players were going down far too easily for me and although it may have not been the most composed way to respond, at least he shoWed some fight. He's a great competitor and unlike the majority on here, I really don't think he went missing tonight. I think the sub was purely strategic and also a way avoid a second yellow... Too many of you are jumping the gun imp. No way we get rid of him this summer and de Bruyne is not at all an improvement. Argue with me all you like, by If de Bruyne looked average in Chelsea's squad last year there's no chance he'll walk into our first 11 next season.

The referee made a mistake by not sending him off and you have no problem with what he did? Amazing.

Got to agree with this. I'm a big fan of Sammy but he was lucky to have stayed on the pitch. I actually thought he was trying to get sent off.

And this happened after Pellegrini was quite straightforward about avoiding a red card if possible. I hope the reaction from him taking Samir off was at least partly because of his idiotic antics.

Though I do blame the mister why he didn't start Navas in neither of the legs against Barca. This is actually a fixture where he should always play on the right side, while we 'can afford' having Nasri against the likes of Burnley (it wouldn't have been probably much worse even if Navas played well) etc.

Jesus wept, can't believe there was a mention of him being captain material.

Never forgiven him for the turned back on scum, he's shit.

He's got a tasty new contract though, expect him to turn it on if there's wind of a new manager in the summer, either that or he will play out if his skin midway through the next season if Manuel doesn't renew.

We won't shift him out easy mate, just like Kolorov and Dzeko

Apart from the petulant performance, he looks like he has been piling up the croissants with jam and cream for breakfast.

The club needs to employ a dietitian. There are a few players who look overweight.

For all his obvious skills, he is detrimental to City and should be shipped out this summer. We can no longeraccept his petulance and hot and cold performances.

Will cut and past this post in Yayas thread also.
