Is he masking an injury that he is worried could impact his career? I have no idea but at this stage I trust Malanga more.

Yaya for captain he is the only one I see actually bossing and pushing players on the pitch. Notice the 5 nil on his return.

Welcome back Diddy.......

Thank you.

Clearly has issues this season. Wasn't great last season either and simply has worsened. This is an acute on chronic dip in performances.

2 years ago he was the best centre half in the world.
Now he isn't even the best centre half at city.

Been poor for a while now - was he world class last year? Not for me he wasn't.

Think he is a very good captain for when things are going well, but at times I wish we had someone more like Keane (but not as much of a twat) who would let team mates know when they needed to pull their finger out.

No he wasn't the best in the world 2 years ago maybe one of cause i don't how we can label a defender the best based on what winning the PL? for stats and intelligence Thiago Silva is better than him ...

the problem with kompany he must just change his head with Demichelis's one, i m meaning being more intelligent and elegant defending is not only about physique and trying to catch out the player instead of positioning then getting owned

Vinny has been immense for us for quite a few seasons , his leadership qualities will never be in doubt , the guy has shown loyalty and commitment to our club , perhaps some posters on here , ripping him to pieces should return the same loyalty , no doubt he is not playing to his very high standards , but he needs supporting through a bad run of form.

Probably needs a spell on the sidelines.

It's worked for others hopefully will work for him.

Playing through injuries for Belgium repeatedly may have hindered Vinny's ability to rely on his power. Mancini saw this coming when he stood up for the Club, vs Country!

Vinny, as a Blue legend, deserves the chance to put his performance right at Anfield on Sunday. Further poor performances could cost Vinny his place for the second leg in Barca.
