I've seen stranger things in football than MCFC winning the CL. We need just four ties where we might have to play well in one of 'em, and it needn't be the final. There are some very strong teams still left in who, say, eight times out of ten, will beat us. But we might just catch 'em in one of the other two games. None of those teams left in are invincible. We can beat them. I'm not saying we will, but we can! We need to play just a little better than we did on Saturday!!! It is not beyond a reasonable notion.
Stranger things have happened and if we manage to get someone like Zenit in the Quarters you never know where we can go from there if Kompany gets fit and Kun stays fit.

Full backs who are better than both Clichy and Kolarov? It's like finding a striker better than Aguero! All depends on the day! Clichy and Kollers have had some fantastic matches. Sergio has had some very quiet ones. If you do find an LB who can defend, attack and put in a regular decent cross you will have found the footballing equivalent of the Holy Grail - and you will have to pay!! Megabucks!! Personally, I think the beast doesn't exist! Whichever full back you want there will be a weakness! Oh, and I nearly forgot about pace. We want someone who can run like the wind! £50m for a full back, anyone?

you make a good point, people want so much from kolarov its unreal, constant high level crosses and constant high level defending but i feel kola has depleted in most areas of his game sadly.

i think the team might benefit from a more solid full back on the left, more like Sagna, at the slight expense of attacking. A fluid front 5 could compensate, but then again if the manager who is in charge next season wants attacking full backs then thats what they want.

we were so so so lucky to have zaba on his game for a number of seasons, he really did everything to a decent level

This is where the criticism of Kollers and Clichy comes from - Zaba had defence and attack in the perfect balance and folk want the same on the other flank.

I'll personally double any odds you can find and offer you a bet if you wished to place one.

I agree but Zabba hasn't produced that form for between 12 and 18 months (largely due to injury and overplaying with internationals etc). Both Sagna and Kolarov have both had a good first half of the season.

I've been pretty happy with the form of Kollers and Baccers this season, particularly, Sagna who is either a perfect athletic specimen or a match or two away from the Knackers'Yard.

Yes the Stoke came comes to mind when Sagna was running on empty and Silva was leaving him to mark two players. Hopefully Zabba can share the workload in the second half of the season

I am hoping Clichy will share the left back work over the rest of the season with us often aying twice per week!
