Got to agree with that .
He reminds me a lot of Ali Bernarbia .
But unlike Ali we have had this lad in the prime of his career .
I didn't know a lot about him when we bought him .
 
First saw Merlin in the 2007 Thomas Cook Trophy playing for Valencia against City displaying his silky skills and scoring the only goal - tapping home a parry from Schmeichel IIRC. After that I watched him closely in the 2008 Euros for Spain where he first made his mark internationally. At that time of course I could only dream of seeing him in a City shirt but thanks to ADUG some dreams have come true and he has definitely lived up to my expectations.

He's utterly fucking brilliant.
 
In the top 10 players of all time an absolute genius that can destroy defences with a single touch he does things with a football that mere humans can only dream about as essential to our development as a world power in club football as it's possible to get and whatever this guy wants and needs to play his football at the Etihad and pledge his career to us ............ make sure he gets it !
 
The travel down to Swansea was well worth watching Merlin the magicians performance. What a player..outstanding.

the ground he covered and the effort he put in when we didn,t have the ball was astonishing.if only he could have finished that breathtaking move in the second half.

fantastic to watch.
