I'm certain that in our first PL title winning season there was an extended interview with him in the Telegraph — I think the day before the Spurs game at the Etihad that was so vital, or the same day — in which he talked about that ankle injury as a chronic condition that has given him pain for years. If he could get rid of that it would be marvellous. Above all, he will finally get a good rest this summer, which he hasn't had for an awfully long time.

Must be one of the many Americanisms I've picked up over the years (I'm no longer sure what's an English expression and what's American...). It means she's not trying very hard - it comes in handy about every other time Yaya plays.
