went down near the end before he was subbed holding his dodgy ankle.

hopefully he'll get this sorted over the next few weeks and be ready for pre season
 
Is this the first time since we've signed him that he's had a proper rest during the off season?

Be good to finally get a rested Silva for the season ahead.

No, but it's the first time since summer 2011, in 6 summers here he's had 2 world cups, a European championships and a confederations cup.

That's not saying much, is it?

David 'Merlin - El Mago' Silva was fantastic last night. His passing was wonderful and he took his goal brilliantly.

What a joy it is to know he is ours and what a privilege it is to watch him every home match.
