Yeah, I agree with that. Interesting point on your last sentence. I think it has seemed that way for long periods but his sharpness comes back after 8 or 9 games, and we saw that in the first and last quarters of the season. I hope that isn't wishful thinking on my part because I have been watching his pace with concern every time he comes back from injury. Remember in his first few games for us when he went past the Spurs full back and whacked it in the roof of the net? That was proper centre forwards pace, so maybe you're right.

Sterling has that burst at the moment, but not the finishing ability of course,

Yeah, I don't think he's had that yard since the Southampton injury in 2012/13, however I think his dribbling, movement and nous has improved, so it's more than made up for it.

With Sterling, I really hope he puts the hours in after training, and watches Kun like a hawk, because Sterling with finishing would be absolutely unplayable. He just needs to learn off Kun, and develop triggers for each situation, like Kun has, so that he knows what to do to score, like Kun did against Lloris, he knew that when the keeper went down, he puts it in the top near hand corner where the keeper can't reach it. Sterling needs to learn that, his finishing isn't a technical problem, it's lack of composure and poor decision-making.

Totally agree, every word. I will tell you a little theory I have about Sergio. When you watch his face when he shoots, particularly one on one with the keeper, as he hits it he snarls, his expression goes 'fuck off!'. In his mind he's scoring here and nobody is going to fucking stop him. When you see the likes of sterling, in fact most mere mortals on the football pitch, there's a fear in their expression, a hope, and it manifests itself with lacking-In-conviction finishes like that one sterling did for England early the other night (if you saw it)

The other thing he does In that one-on-one situation is punch it with no back lift. It means the keeper can't pick it, and get down early enough, because it's past him before he knew it was coming.

You're dead right that Sterling could learn from that. Silva too,,actually, although he's improved significantly too this year. We digress form the thread though.

yeah, although we're digressing, it's a good discussion. I agree about your Kun point, and his early finishing, it's what he does brilliantly one-on-one, he shoots when the keeper is still moving and isn't set. A good example of that was Slovenia's first goal v England, the striker took it before Joe was fully set, and thus couldn't react properly to it. It's what Kun also does really well, he can do the keeper either way, hitting it early or waiting for them to move and putting it where they can't reach. Brilliant striker.

These last few pages have been a great read. As for Silva, he's majestic and as others have said, I think next season we will see the best season yet from him. Love the guy.

Silva looking sharp playing for spain, same with Kun as well, really can't wait to see these two playing and training alongside more inevitable top notch midfielders that will be coming in no doubt.

Keep up the good work David!

This little man just gets better and better. We are truly blessed to have him at our club but he feels equally blessed to be with us, match made in heaven. He is an undoubted legend. With his style of play we could easily get another 10 years out of him, similar to Pirlo, and I certainly want him to stay as long as possible, I don't even want to think of the time when he isn't pulling on a blue shirt.
