That's because he hasn't been at liverpool long enough isn't it?Sterling has that burst at the moment, but not the finishing ability of course,

Yeah, I agree with that. Interesting point on your last sentence. I think it has seemed that way for long periods but his sharpness comes back after 8 or 9 games, and we saw that in the first and last quarters of the season. I hope that isn't wishful thinking on my part because I have been watching his pace with concern every time he comes back from injury. Remember in his first few games for us when he went past the Spurs full back and whacked it in the roof of the net? That was proper centre forwards pace, so maybe you're right.

Yeah, I don't think he's had that yard since the Southampton injury in 2012/13, however I think his dribbling, movement and nous has improved, so it's more than made up for it.
With Sterling, I really hope he puts the hours in after training, and watches Kun like a hawk, because Sterling with finishing would be absolutely unplayable. He just needs to learn off Kun, and develop triggers for each situation, like Kun has, so that he knows what to do to score, like Kun did against Lloris, he knew that when the keeper went down, he puts it in the top near hand corner where the keeper can't reach it. Sterling needs to learn that, his finishing isn't a technical problem, it's lack of composure and poor decision-making.
Totally agree, every word. I will tell you a little theory I have about Sergio. When you watch his face when he shoots, particularly one on one with the keeper, as he hits it he snarls, his expression goes 'fuck off!'. In his mind he's scoring here and nobody is going to fucking stop him. When you see the likes of sterling, in fact most mere mortals on the football pitch, there's a fear in their expression, a hope, and it manifests itself with lacking-In-conviction finishes like that one sterling did for England early the other night (if you saw it)
The other thing he does In that one-on-one situation is punch it with no back lift. It means the keeper can't pick it, and get down early enough, because it's past him before he knew it was coming.
You're dead right that Sterling could learn from that. Silva too,,actually, although he's improved significantly too this year. We digress form the thread though.
I didn't think I could love the little guy more but then this.Check out the OS - David's favourite game was the 6-1 rout of the scum - LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
