He's obviously had issues with his ankles for sometime to varying degrees and had played under some duress in the past.

Like Kun , VK and others with a history of injuries we won't move forward and take the premiership by the scruff of the neck if the players we have available in their absence are not committed, don't have the work rate and mental edge to instil fear and nervousness in the opposition.

There are not many sides in the premiership that are too concerned about coming to COMS and they know if they press us and are organised they have every chance of beating us.

In their remaining time at the club we know they will be out for spells due to injury and in some cases long spells and the reality is we need to bring players through that can handle the riggers of the game better injury wise and are suitable long term replacements both in quality and mental strength.

As many have said we lack leadership through out the side and are very fragile during games at times no matter who we are up against.

Part of that comes from management and unless we address it properly we will unfortunately have too many of these results for our liking.

You really hope that this current crop of players are hurting badly today and ensure that kind of rubbish we dished out will never happen again but given that most have them have tasted some domestic success and probably know they won't go beyond the last 16 in Europe they are not hurting nearly as much as the ardent supporter today.

Not trying to excuse the performance or anything today but when you are without arguably your five best players; aguero, silva, kompany, otamendi and dinho, any team in the world will struggle. Now I know aguero and dinho played half the game each but you get my point.

Agreed, but we had the players in the squad to still put out a competitive team.

We really need Silva back. I just hope that when he returns he is properly over the ankle problem. It's recurrent like Kompany's calf, and I bet that the first game Silva returns he'll get targeted.

We all do, mate.
The sad thing is we'll never know just how successful this team could have been had it not been for injuries to our three best players.
I know we've won trophies, I'm as happy as the next fan about what we've acheived over the last 8 years. I just can't shake the feeling that we'll never know just how good we could have been had Silva, Aguero and Kompany remained available to us every game.

Yeah, but the fact that they're injury prone is part of the make-up of their bodies as much as their other physical attributes. It's just the way they're built. I try and be fatalistic about these things. Their propensity for injury is just the way it is, I'm afraid.

Yeah, I accept that's the way it is, mate. Like I said though, I can't help wondering what we could acheive had that not been the case.
I suppose it just makes me appreciate them more when they are on the pitch.

I think with David and Sergio we have lucked out to an incredible extent. Not only for their performances on the pitch, but for their conduct in relation to City off the pitch and around the club in particular, as well as the loyalty and respect they have overtly demonstrated to the club and its supporters. So proud that they both play for my club.

They could both play for any team on the planet and have chosen to give us their best years. That's a testament to our owners and themselves. You're correct (of course, haha!) we should all be proud that they play for our club.

There will be a biomechanical or neurophysiological reason why certain players are prone to certain injuries. Find it, and do something about it...if you can. It's certainly not fate. I suppose it is fate if you don't do something about it.
