Re: Mangala

Mangala out. Pellegrini out. Mansour out.

tbs Nastasic MUST be in start for NewC at least. Elaquim may play derby match good as he did v chelski/ But he still has bad positioning in the box

This guy is not ready yet. Shocking midweek and worse today.

Wow, I thought he was excellent today.

Seconded. To the point of being baffled by some of the comments in the matchday thread.

Then again I'm routinely baffled by some of the comments in the matchday thread.

Re: Mangala

Better than Kompany today. Without him we would have conceded 3 or 4. His last ditch tackles, often using his pace, spared us more blushes. Far from a rock solid performance but he was the best of our back 4. Seems a convenient scapegoat because he's new (see: Fernandinho this time last year).

Re: Mangala

Mangala was good today, not very good or awesome, but good. He had a lot of interceptions, and dealt amazingly well with a lot of tricky 1v1s. I have no doubt that Clichy in those situations today would have conceded two penalties. He also burst from dee a couple of time. He did make a few mistakes that makes the performance not awesome, but that was easily his second best match since the Chelsea game.

4 tackles, 2 interceptions, 6 headers won and 13 clearances, yet always looked like he was about to make a mistake. Very similar to how Demichelis was this time last season.

this. thats why I said he was good today, but not awesome. A couple of time he did look uncomposed or dodgy, but the way he deal with the 1v1s was very good

Our defence now is worse than when Mancini arrived!

Quite what the f*ck is going on I have no idea. One thing that is obvious however is the team is fast becoming predictable. Combinations of over playing and only having 1 holder in this easily combated 442 is letting athletic teams with little technical ability have a punchers chance. They get everyone behind the ball and break when we lose possession. The distances between our forwards and defenders is huge and there doesn't seem to be a game that goes by when Kompany is not at risk of being sent off due to having to step out and challenge players running at our 'Sitting Duck' defence.

If I can see that 442 doesn't work and that Dzeko offers little if Aguero continues to be the furthest forward, then why can't Pellegrini.

In short, we need to ensure that away from home we avoid any chance of losing the game before we attempt to win it.

Clichy and Mangala are awful and I truly fear that Mangala is going to become City's worse ever purchase, perhaps even providing less value for money than Roque Santa Cruz.

Seriously made me laugh out loud. Cheers for that mate.

Re: Mangala

He is long long way off living his £32 million price tag, not to mention that he is the most expensive defender in Premier League history. He seriously has to step up his game. For that price I expect a lot more not just "improving his game", with that price tag the impact should be immediate to be honest.

Re: Mangala

I thought he was poor today. I was right behind the goal and it seemed he was too easily beaten for the first, then it was hoof to anyone as the game wore on. Kept passing back to Hart, seemed to have no confidence. However all defensive players were poor today, not just him. £32million though, doesn't look like a £32m player
