DeMichelis certainly doesn't deserve to be "dropped". However, it's not the 1980s anymore, players can't play every single minute in a 60 game season.
Sometimes you have to start players that are perfect exploit a weakness in an opposing team, sometimes you have to start players who nullify a threat in an opposing team. For me Mangala's pace and strength make him perfect to nullify Chelsea's threat on the break, and Costa's physicality.
That's not a criticism of DeMichelis, just that for this particular game I think Mangala would be the perfect fit.
