Was absolutely sensational. I always believe that defenders are a very important aspect of attack and offense and I believe his dominance with kompany and drives forward was a major reason why we dominated this match and looked utterly superior from start to finish.

Great debut and I am filled with excitement and encouragement for the rest of the season with the Kompany and Mangala pairing.

Great performance, looks confident and is a beast of a player and bossed Costa everytime he came up with him. Our centre backs sent Pig face Costa off with his tail between his legs

He looks the real deal. Had Costa in his back pocket for the majority of the game, up until that late effort that hit the post.

He is so important on counters. We don't look slow reacting anymore. He raced back to make so many key tackles.

What a debut from him, no wonder Txiki was after him for 12 months. Has the pace, mobility and strength also is left footed which compliments Kompany perfectly as well. Also he is only 23 years old, amazing performance. Demichelis has definitely lost his place now.

How on earth liability-Sakho is ahead of him in the France national team is beyond me.
