Showing exactly what we expected to get when we signed him and long as he's played in his correct position. If he can now stay fit and is given a chance there's going to be a hell of a lot of red faces that slated Delph when rumours of him signing surfaced.

Huge credit needs to be given to Fernando too though. I want to see it tried but I'm not entirely convinced a Fernandinho/Delph partnership would work as well as we think without a Fernando as insurance. Might be a bit too similar although they're both clever enough to work it out given time.

Mind you Ferny is NOT a defensive mid. He played almost always as box-to-box for Shakhtar. He was asked to adapt his game and curb his attacking for Yaya to take advantage of that. Boy did he adapt to this new role. I reckon as Ferny gets older, he would be moved to a more attacking role, his passes(Sevilla) and goals(Arsenal) showed what he is capable of. SO I do think Delph and Ferny can work together.

8m? Wow,we did good.

He should play in the majority of our games,he has energy, industry, heart and desire,he akso posesses far greater talent than hes credited with. The closest thing to a NDJ replacement yet,i actually think he has a better all round game.

Interesting (or not!) stat, shamelessly stolen from the Sky Sports site; every game that Fab has scored in in his senior career (15 games), he's ended up on the winning side.

Outstanding today fantastic goal but his all round play was superb. His work rate, passing, energy and drive was excellent. Lost count of how many times he won the ball and broke up play for Palace, looking to be a very shrewd buy.

He literally seemed to be everywhere today, I'd go as far as 9 out of 10. Very well done Fabian, liked his recent comments about how he loves the us city fans too because of how he's been treated even after his injuries etc.

he was class today and was everywhere on the pitch, tackles (a couple lunging ones) and good footwork to go round players and a great opening goal.....well done delph
