Zola was 29 when he signed for Chelsea, as was Zidane when he joined Real Madrid. And Milan disposed of Pirlo because of his age.

Don't get me wrong, I'd have loved to sign him a few years ago myself but chances are that he might not have made the same impact.

To keep player motivated, City should offer contract at the end of the season instead. Lesson has to be learned from last season when player's performance went down hill after renewed contract though.

But anything can happen if you wait till the end if the season. We are also dealing with so called agents.

Apparently opened talks for a 2 year extension that would keep him at the club until 2019. Great news if true, best player at City so far this season.
