Whats done is done. I agree that it hasn't been handled well to date but we can't change that.

Looking forward though, I could have seen a situation where the speculation continued right up to the day he joined NYCFC. This at least provides a bit of clarity on that.

As for finding answers to why things went so bad PR wise, I doubt that'll will ever happen. I would hope that the people involved at the clubs and CFG will learn from it though, and make sure things are handled better next time a similar situation arises.

Who's to say he was just impressed by our ambition and facilities and wanted to be part of it albeit for only one season leaving the country as a winner?

As long both City and Lampard are happy at the current arrangement he can still do a job for us is all I am bothered about.

The likes of Ogden, Jackson, Ducker, Rob Harris and Nick Harris are desperately trying to make this into a bigger story than it is on Twitter, probably in the hope of us getting docked points. Pretty sure we've done nothing wrong though, even if it hasn't been handled too well from a PR point of view.

Oliver Kay, who I think is a solid journalist along with Ducker from the Times by the looks of it finally got some response from the club and it corresponds somehow with the PL statement at last (just check their last tweets). Add to that Lampard's statement and finally it looks like that everything's been put to its place.

But we can't deny that it had been handled poorly and that the MLS (or MLS, whatever) or the, erhm, fans of NYCFC have been fooled big time. I'm sure they will get over it and well, without CFG the franchise would not even exist, but it doesn't reflect too well that the club stated false information on their website for like half a year...

We've had them all over, duped them call it what you what. Don't try and make excuse's "there wasn't a club to have a contract with" that's just making silly excuses, who did David Villa sign for ? We've just had them over plain and simple !

I'm neither mate, I think it's great just don't try and make up silly excuse's that's all. We had them over plain and simple.

No one on here is making silly excuses - the bit about no club to sign for came from Lampards agent. His own statement this morning pretty much confirms it, he only signed a commitment to join, not a contract.

I meant City or whoever making silly excuses, however it was portrayed in July he had signed for NYC and subsequently loaned to us. I have no problem but it's all a bit messy again.
