Complete tosh: we can't even get the season's top scorer in the Premier league team of the season, so we have as much chance of having a City player winning any sort of award linked to a popularity contest as I have of playing in goal for us in the derby...
You have a point about City players being voted for anything but I didn't say De Bruyne would win it with us.
Though he probably would do - he is that good.

It was certainly a nice goal, but De Bruyne's honesty took a lot of potential praise away from himself. Even he admitted that he miss hit it:

TBF, he doesn't say he "miss hit it", he's a true perfectionist, he said that he "didn't hit it perfectly".

Just like Rooney, when he did his "greatest ever" PL overhead "shinner" against us.

KDB's goal took a tremendous amount of skill and technique even though it wasn't a "perfect" connection.

'A flat track Bundesliga bully' Reds at work called him. Missing the point that Eredivisie top scorers Samaras and Alves were tosh in the prem, whilst singing the praises of Depay. This lad has it and his fee will be repaid in spades if he carries on.

I'm surprised at how quickly De Bruyne has settled into our system of play. I bet all the rags and media alike were willing him to have done fuck all by now, so they could throw the total waste of money jibe at him. Still early days but he's already looking like he's worth every penny of that big fee.

All of the above.

Watched it back a few times, he flicks his foot at the ball, doesn't try to drive through it. He got it close enugh for me to be one of the best goals i have seen in a long long long time.

On his goal:
It was mis-timed if anything. He's aiming to get a true connection with laces but catches the ball earlier than anticipated which means he connects with the outside of his boot and it loops over the keeper. His initial aim was to beat the keeper with power if he wanted to lob him he would have gone with the inside of his boot, either way its a great goal.

On his performances:
I'm honestly shocked at how good he is even for Bundesliga player of the year, reminds me of Thomas Muller not in play style but in his ability to make everything look easy. Always looking forward and for once makes me less worried when Silva is out injured.

Don't be daft, i'm sure you could get into United's starting XI.

Besides the goal the one that amazed me was his running off the ball in the area for the final Aguero goal. He seems to know where to position himself and Silva finds him both on the same wavelength. Then when he receives the ball he does not look up one touch sends it into the box for Aguerro to score. Most players want at least two touches in that position. Love the smile from Aguero as they walk back bet he was saying finally someone who can provide me with service. Quality player.

He's a gem, everything he does is instinctive, and he already has a great understanding of knowing where Sergio is going to be.

Watching him, Aguero and Silva is going to be a treat. And they're only going to get better.
