At some point City fans have to come to the realization that it is quite likely that the best City player ever ( or at least 80% of them will likely come within the last 6 or so years and the years to come). Thus, Silva being deemed the greatest City player ever right now, doesn't mean he wouldn't be surpassed in the very near future, if not now).

While I wouldn't venture into the who is better discussion, as That's just and endless emotional drawn out battle, what I can say without equivocation is this: Kevin has had the best start to his City career of all the players we've acquired in the Sheikh Era. Of that, there is little doubt.

I agree with those who view them as different types of players, they are! But if Debruyne keeps this pace up for a year or 2, I doubt the question will be whether he is City's best ever, but rather, it will be: His he the best player in the world at the moment?

It's one thing for him to do what he did last year at a pressure free Wolfsburg where he was the team's fulcrum. It's will be something else if he does it for a 2nd year running as one of many stars on a title contender ( Especially if we go on to win the league and perhaps the CL.).

Let's not fool ourselves here, he is clearly on paxe to equal his last years output or even surpass it. If that happens, I don't see how he doesn't make Ballon dor's top 3.

There is a reason why Kicker rated him WC last year. He really is. Still has his warts, but he is pretty special.

Silva is my favorite player of this generation, and will still be no matter what. But I can admit Messi is better, and I sense Kev probably might be too when its all said and done.

He has a long way to go in order to prove himself at the same level of Silva and Aguero, but in the very short time he has been here he most definitely demonstrated the ability to do so.
A real match winner already, I think he will turn out to be one of our best ever signings. HE IS ONLY 23!!!

Perhaps the most ridiculous post I've ever read on Bluemoon.

He's played 7 games for us. He's not played very well for a lot of that period.

If you are making the claim he's had the best start ever to a City career, which games stand out to you where he was outstanding? I assume there must be a few of them, seen as he's 'arguably City's greatest ever player'.

He's scored a couple of excellent goals. For 20 minutes at the start of the second half against Newcastle he was fantastic. But not as fantastic as Aguero and Silva were. Other than that his performances have been pretty average and the hyperbole surrounding him at the moment is as puzzling as it is cringeworthy.

Don't let your emotions get the best of you. I said he's has the best start to his City career in the Sheikh era. 5 goals and 5 assists in 8 games is top class by any standard. You can argue factually about it by bringing up other City great players and how they started. Tevez, Silva, Aguero, Yaya, Robihno E.t.c and compare their productions in their first 2 months. Aguero had a pretty phenomenal start too.

But all the emotional ranting on what's cringeworthy is just your opinion. I' am simply stating my view on his start to his City career. It's been pretty special, even if you feel the need to belittle it to serve some polemic emotional position.

I'll repeat my question, which games do you think he's been outstanding in?

Thought I'd quote your own post for you mate, just in case you'd forgotten what you actually said.

West Ham, Newcastle, and Bournemouth. Not to mention a winner against Sevilla.

I think you're getting confused between scoring a good goal and playing well. Do you watch the full games or just watch the goals on Youtube? Serious question.

Yes, just coz Silva is the best now, doesn't mean he would not be surpassed very soon. This does not in anyway claim he has been. It's simply stating City is in a current situation that puts them in a position where there is a new best of all times a lot in a very short period.

I got more flack for suggesting Aguero would dwarf Tevez's accomplishments when we got him. I'm simply saying if Debruyne keeps up his production he'd be vying for Balon for.
