I think if it is Pep next season Kevin will be fitter and will be pushed to challenge harder when we don't have the ball. Looked way off the pace today, but he is a fantastic player who I suspect we will see the best of next season.

Thought he was very good today.

Wasn't a bad performance but there were a couple of occasions when he lost the ball and didn't chase it down. Just seems to have lost a bit of zip, but understandable as he is used to a mid season break. I just think under Pep we will see a better player. But don't get me wrong a huge admirer.

He puts in a hell of a shift. I don't know what people are watching, but if they only look for the goals and assists, they'll miss out on his workrate and presence all over the pitch.
I think the guy's knackered after 80 mins, but that's because he's putting in some serious miles.

Worth every penny so far I'd say.

It boggles my mind when I read some of the comments about his work rate. :( its like I watched a different game.

Maybe you just missed what they didn't show on the TV? Twice in the first half Zabba was left with an extra man because Kev hadn't filled in. After that he was much better and as the game went on and we dominated, meaning he didn't have to concentrate on defensive work, he got well into his stride.
Overall it was a decent shift from him but it was far from perfect.

not in the best of form right now, but still creating chances, still getting assists. All I'd say is people seem to be expecting him to control the game like silva, but that's not what he's about. He's more direct and that may mean he loses the ball more and have a lower pass completion % than silva, or maybe than anyone. But conversely he's well on track to get more goals and assists in his first season at city than silva has ever done in a single season. He is end product tbh, rather than the bit that comes before.

He is more direct, yes, and that accounts for some of his low-ish possession stats but part of it is he's quite often careless in terms of easy passes, even Pellegrini has mentioned it a couple of times.
