Don't know if its been mentioned yet (haven't read all the catch up posts since the match) but occording to opta he created 5 chances in the 70 odd minutes he was on the pitch. I think that is a high from any city player so far this season and he did that in his first outing whilst looking good but not amazing. The pass to Navas in particular though was brilliance. Can't wait to see what else he has in the locker, but that is a great first game.

I'm hoping he starts against juve regardless if silva and sterling are fit I would put him in over one of them leave nasri in the side and replace navas with silva or sterling depending on who would be less of a risk of getting injured again

He looked class this week and only having 2-3 days of training with the team it shows he is just a good player all round can't wait until he works out combination with the other 3 up front with him

You're right, I forgot about that, but he definitely did not always play on the left for Genk. But he did start there.
But if you had a choice to put him on the right or the center I believe you would choose those options over the left no?

According to Wikipedia he played 78 games for Genk. Of those 78 games, I'm quite sure he played 70 games as a left wide midfielder. It wasn't until the end of march of his last season when he played as a central midfielder (8-position), at first at home against AA Gent. He played a few games in the playoffs in that position (one of them a stellar performance at Anderlecht when the home-crowd gave him a standing ovation because of his performance), but in the second game against Anderlecht they injured him and he was out for the rest of the season.

De Bruyne can play in all three positions and possibly even at Yaya's position when dominating all though i think he's at best at number 10, with the freedom to roam to the wings. When playing with Silva and Sterling I would let the switch positions.

Footage from his game against Anderlecht :

Only time i witnessed Anderlecht fans giving an opposing player a standing ovation. Benteke and Vossen are also in the video.

When I saw him against Palace I could see that he could easily adapt to a central midfield role. His passing range is a huge plus for someone in there.

Lots of talks here about where to put De Bruyne. Truth of the matter is, you can't actually "put" De Bruyne somewhere. He roams around like a free spirit. So if you want your wingers out wide, better not "put" De Bruyne there, because no matter what he will come inside frequently. He can't help it, he's attracted to the ball like bees to honey. It's not really modern football, but a free role in behind Aguëro is the best you can do for him, and for the team. (In my humble opinion)

Whilst I agree that, for De Bruyne, his best position is probably in a free role behind Aguero, I can't agree that would be the best place for him "for the team". City are extremely lucky in that, in my opinion, we've got the best player in World football when it comes to playing in the number 10 position, behind a lone striker, and that player is David Silva. If fit (or not being "rested") Silva should play that role. De Bruyne's time will come, 6 or so years younger than Silva, but for the time being De Bruyne is most likely to be on the right of an attacking formation.

i dont have time to read back through thread but did he get MOTM saturday? if not who did
