I feel for him at times, he looks up and nobody takes a good position in the box. The lack of players committing themselves is a joke.
I love his industry and desire and the fact he never hides but his final ball/delivery/ability to beat a man/score himself is just not good enough 99% of the time.
Completely agree about having no one in the box but he could have several targets and more often than not would find the defender or turn back on himself and knock it back inside to whoever.
He is not alone as winger or full back in the same position does the exact same thing right now.
That's a fair point, the problem for me is we don't play our percentages in the box the way United and Bayern do, they commit so many players in the box which causes problems, whereas with us everyone is waiting on the edge.
He'll be gone in the summer. We need to start competing with Mardid/barca/Bayern and he wouldnt get anywhere near their first teams.
Bale/Ronaldo
Robben/Ribery/Costa
Neymar/Messi/Suarez (whichever one starts on the right)
Playing on the right wing or the right of midfield for an elite club should mean you're scoring at least 10 goals a season and assisting 15. He just isn't productive enough. I hear the Navas fans argue that he works hard and tracks back. Darius Vassell used to bloody do that. We need so much more from our wide players.
Navas is 100% not anywhere near good enough to start for a team hoping to win the EPL on a consistent basis and to occasionally win the Champion's League. As the original 2015/16 thread is closed....
What a load of rubbish, total and utter waste of a shirt today.
Not blaming him for the failure to score, but Pelligrini for choosing him.
Do all you Navas worshippers now see what I've been seeing for the last two seasons? He is absolutely clueless and useless. A waste of a team place, why oh why does Pellegrini keep picking him? Has it anything to do with him keeping his word? It certainly isn't because he adds any value to the team!
You know what you get with him. Lots of energy and effort, attacks with pace, stretches teams and works back diligently. This is his 3rd season so by now the other attackers should know his style and get across the near post as invariably that's where most of his crosses (the ones that aren't blocked by the full back) go to. Goal return is woeful though by any standards.
Just like Mancini turned Kompany into a world class centre back?Watch Pep turn him into a world class right back.
I can really see that,he would be good thereWatch Pep turn him into a world class right back.
Too small , teams would play the long diagnol straight on top of himI can really see that,he would be good there
Good point,i wouldn't put it past pep to give it a go anywayToo small , teams would play the long diagnol straight on top of him
