Player Topic: Navas.....

Very reliable squad player, I'd have no issues at all with him being here another year. You know what you'll get with him, unlike some of our other players.

It wouldn't make sense to ditch players like Navas this summer. With all of the first choice players away at summer tournaments we're going to need players like him to provide some continuity at the start of the season, especially for the CL qualifiers (even if only on the bench).

Decent squad player. Probably not on huge wages and his resale value hardly makes it worth getting rid, so unless there's a youngster ready to step up or we're buying big in his position its a no brainer he stays.

I hope this is true.

I know he's an important figure for the young Spanish kids too - several times in interviews it's been mentioned how he's helped them integrate into the squad.

Roberts or another youngster can replace him in 17/18.

A strange player who undoubtedly contributed more than he was given credit for, and on more than one occasion (Sevilla away being the best example) was our best player.
Also, let's not forget that he scored in the Wembley shootout, when the more fashionable Liverpool players were all missing.

However, just like Sterling, it was often unclear whether he was under orders, to wait for support, rather than just do what the crowd wanted, and use his pace to beat the full back.

I like Navas. I think he suffered from growing in up in era when being short and pacy meant you were always stuck on the wing.

Can see Pep using him in a number of different positions like Right Back, Wing Back or Central Midfield.

Great news. Love the guy. We all know he's limited and frustrating but he always gives 100% and you need players like that in your squad.

I bet Pep makes more players get into that penalty box quicker as well.Too many time last season there was hardly any fucker in that area with Sergio spending far too much time outside of the box.Pep will demand more bodies up there and in all honesty one of our best players to get quickly into the area was young Kelechi.

Seems we got a lot of great news today. Great squad player, thought he sometimes got too much stick in that people often focus on his crossing (which does have some room of improvement). His ability to hold up and pass the ball is pretty good, as is his workrate. And sometimes I think if he were not a football player, he could be trained as a sprinter instead.
