Very poor tonight. The game just passed him by. When he went central he looked like he was hiding, when he was wide he couldn't beat his man and can't pass so everything was coming back. As bad as Bony and Zaba.

We carried him tonight no doubt about that. A passenger for 90 minutes.

His inability to play a simple 5 yard pass is worrying. I wouldn't mind if he was going past players but he's not even trying to do that. I know he's scored 5 goals this season but they have come against Sunderland, Watford and Bournemouth. Douglas Costa would have been a far better and cheaper option on the left because I don't think Sterling is a good enough winger and there is no way he is playing centrally when Silva and KDB are available. Too early to judge but I think it was a fairly needless signing to be honest. There are plenty of hidden gems in world football but we just seem to throw money at overrated players. 30m for Milner and 42m for Mangala says it all. I keep hearing everyone say we should beat Sevilla because we have better players. It's a myth, actually look at both starting eleven's and there is not much difference it's just the inflated transfer fees have created the illusion that our squad is deeper and better than it really is. 50m for Sterling was and is a joke. Our scouting system needs to improve dramatically otherwise we will keep paying over the odds and continue to cause unrealistic expectations from the media and fans.

The thing I like about Navas is that even when it isn't going for him, he works his socks off for the team. I wish Sterling would do a bit more when we don't have the ball especially on days like today when he isn't at his best.

Problem with the lad is he is in 2 or 3 minds what to do when he has the ball at Liverpool it was attack! Plus him receiving the ball with his back to goal ain't a good idea especially in Europe

Played a beautiful first time, defence splitting, game winning pass to Bony. Unfortunately Bony was running the wrong way. You get the feeling that if Bony wanted to catch the train to London, he's be stood on the platform for York.

Anonymous tonight, prefer him deeper in behind Bony like against Bournemouth rather than next to him up front. Hope we switch back for the next game so he can get more involved.

My main issue is Kolarov though, when Sagna was on & he was wide he'd at least try & pass inside for a one-two or take his man on which is exactly what we want to see him do. As soon as we switched & brought on Kolarov he went back to waiting on the left for the overlap & then passing it (badly) for Kolarov to whip in.
It's like he's been told to always let Kolarov cross & always wait for the overlap rather than trying anything himself.
Plays far better with Sagna on the left for me when he has to do more himself.

This forum is infested with c*nts. Nowt wrong with Sterling IMO. Get behind the players for fucks sake. He will be a great City player.
