Good performance from the lad. The space he created allowed Silva to thrive and he put in a real shift going backwards. He'll be hoping to produce more but he should be happy with his start.

First time we've had a left sided player who can turn Ivanovic inside out.

His speed is very useful when he has to run all the way back and cover for Kolarov.

Egg fucking zactly. If he is scaring one of the best right backs in the league he will be an absolute revelation for city this season. I'm very happy with that home debut.

Needs to improve his passing.

All the players need to improve, when you cant improve anymore ...its time to stop.

Definitely, must be happy not having to always deal with a 2 on 1. He's looked revitalised.

The more Sterling plays, the greater affinity he will have with Merlin and Kolarov and it's already looking decent!

Yes he does. But he has some great qualities. Better in open space.

I think he is actually very good in tight spaces but you could tell he was afraid of taking on his man directly and losing the ball. He hasn't shown that before so I think we can put that down to it being Chelsea and him not wanting to give away a quick counter. He may have even received instructions to keep it simple and just draw out the defenders befor tracking back of necessary. He is an intelligent footballer so I imagine he is able to execute those types of tactical requests very well.

He will grow into the team and I am very happy we are getting the results so the pressure can stay off him.

The lad is quality.
