A ghost on the pitch but very active on social media.

I say this without judgement, and in all seriousness (as I experienced something similar in my profession recently): he seems a man that has lost his love for the game (and perhaps in general).

Once that goes it can be very difficult to motivate yourself above "sufficient", even with a great wage and support.

Perhaps that is seen as soft but I think it is important to remind everyone the players are human and go through hard times psychologically like everyone else. And as is the case with we mortals unhappiness can take you down a dark path regardless of fortune or status.

Just my thoughts, though.

According to Pellegrini today it was a "ligament problem in his leg", presumably his knee. Worryingly, Pellegrini mentioned 4-5 months out, rather than the 3 months Nasri said.

He said tendon not ligament which is even more worrying in a way. Also agree that 4/5 months out will be a huge blow. Gives us a decision to make in the CL squad in Jan.

Ah, sorry my mistake. Thought he'd said ligament for some reason. I'm fairly certain Iheanacho will replace Nasri in the CL squad.

can we see another midfielder coming in Jan for prem and champs league assault?

Silva, Sterling, De Bruyne, Navas
Ya Ya, Fern, Dinho, Deph

other assorted young uns.

dunno, i can see it.

In the 2013-14 season nasri had a hand in some key moves and goals. Some of the play between yaya silva and nasri to unlock defences was fantastic. On the back of some key performances he didn't get selected by didier deschamps for the World Cup due to previous fallouts, nasri acting like an arsehole in previous tournaments and Hugo lloris allegedly telling tales that the other players didn't like him. Nasri also missed out on the 2010 World Cup.

He announced his retirement from international football last year and well... That's the problem I'm afraid.. His hunger and passion for the game seem to have gone. Injuries haven't helped of course, but I would say the France team row has affected him whatever he says on social media.
