Whether you like the CL or not, it's one of the clubs key goals. The revenue, global marketing etc from playing in the latter stages is essential to our development and essential for us to make more money from sponsorships and attract the very best players. The squad we have means it shouldn't be a case of premier league or CL knockouts. We want both and we can have both.

Personally, I couldn't give a toss about the so called "Champions League." Only insofar as it impacts on our PL form. The victory over Bayern obviously gave them a lift. Missing out now, and with Sergio injured, might send us off the other way.
I just hope we come out of it well, because Chelsea are our only serious rivals for the title. Give me the PL title, or the last 16 or even 8 of the CL, then I know what I want.
And what I want isn't watching mid-table shit like I saw tonight from two teams who are frankly well below our level. Just circle the wagons, and get on with it.
