The kid has to start.

It will keep Liverpool on the back foot and his pace and low centre of gravity will destroy Skrtel.

If not fit, I'd go with Negredo over Dzeko, for his ability to tussle properly with Skrtel. Dzeko would be utterly ineffective against big skull.

Negredo would be ineffective against an under-9s side in his current form

Re: Sergio Aguero

I think it would be too risky to start him fresh of the injury, and no match sharpness due to being out. Pretty sure Pellegrini will start Dzeko. He's done well in big games: Bayern, Barca, ManU (he was ok against Arsenal), we lost both Chelsea games, one starting with Aguero and the other with Dzeko.

Dzeko should be instructed to work his butt off first 60 minutes and then sub him out for fresh Negredo/Jovetic, if the scoreline permits Aguero to get some playing time, as we'll need him against Everton.

i hope he doesnt start....

1- he wont be at his very best and we cant afford for anyone to be below par
2- he cant lead the line on his own and playing 442 will be suicide for manuel....there is a reason we've tightened up at the back, its because we've been playing 451 - we cant swicth back to 442 and open it up again against the most potent and inform attack in the league....in their back yard.

im pretty sure he'll start on the bench, edin will start up top again. negredo should miss out with Jovetic also on the bench.

A below par Aguero, would still be better than anything our other forwards could offer IMO.

If he's fit, he plays, simple as that.

I definitely agree we have tightened up because of the 4-5-1, but that's a pretty defensive way to look at it. The flip side is that Liverpool's weakness is their defence and our best shot of rattling them is to hit them with our best offence which is a 4-4-2 including Aguero. Nothing like getting the first goal to quieten down those illiterate scousers in the Kop.

...you left Serge out of his very own thread! If he's fit, he starts, surely? :)

Re: Sergio Aguero

If he's fit (and I mean game fit) he has to start.
Scores big goals in big games. How many times does he get the opening goal?
If Dzeko starts, Dippers think 'it'll be tough, but we can cope.'
If Aguero starts they they change their mindset just as we would if Suarez was absent!
