Sergio's problem (and City's) is that he is always being rushed back from injury too soon. It was ok when we had Tevez/Dzeko/Balotelli/Negredo/Jovetic as the drop off wasn't anything like as big as when we have to put Bony or Kelechi (great prospect as he is) in. Now the pressure is on to throw him back him in as soon as he's off the treatment table. Now wonder he's never fully rested and susceptible to picking up new injuries when the old one(s) haven't fully cleared up. I saw a clip of him in the Carling Cup S/F at the Emirates when he scored that late winner (was it 2012 ?) and it was obvious how much slimmer and leaner he looked compared to now. Injuries are definitely taking their toll on him even at the age of 27. Needs a clear run of injuries to help us reach our potential.

What are City saying about the latest prognosis? Apart from bugger all.

Currently he cannot run without feeling pain in his foot/heel.

Hopefully back for Arsenal perhaps on the bench but who knows.

VK we are told is improving but again who knows when he will be back.

Even without these players its disappointing to see us played off the park against the likes of Stoke. Liverpool and Spurs and only obtaining 14 points from our last 10 games after a solid start.

Its the mindset of the players that needs changing and some of that comes down to the manager and motivation along with the players self motivation to do and actually perform well week in week out no matter the starting eleven.

If that cannot change then you must start with the manager and weeding out the players who don't have the right attitude.

Of course we can't win the title every year but we should be competitive and we fell below the standard required in two of the past four seasons.

Results wise and performance wise we have slipped again this season and clearly the squad needs changes in a number of positions.

You frequently post about the mental brittleness of the players and yet you're one of the first to raise the white flag when the team stutters.

.
Agreed. And the excuse mongering is making things worse.
