I wonder if Dax777 is aware that stats without context are just pretty patterns? Such as 5 of those VK matches being the first five when the defence didn't have much to do so less ticks in the stats boxes.
They're different players, they do different things during the matches. The stats don't 'prove' anything.
I guess you didn't read what I wrote. As I already pointed out that part of Kompany's meagre stats is due to simply not having work work defensively and part of it is due to him simply not making plays defensively. So again, you need not worry whether I am aware of context. I already pointed that out.
Every player is a different player from the next, this hasn't stopped us before from choosing who we think is better. Bony is different from Aguero, yet I've never heard anyone argue let's ignore the stats as Aguero and Bony are different players who do different things during the match.
And this silly notion that someone who thinks one City player has been better than another this season, is somehow a wum, simply because a majority have a differing opinion, has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. They both play for City. I like both. I think Of the Otamendi is better. Just like I think Silva is better than Nasri.
You can disagree. Fine. And I've given my reasons for holding this opinion. Strangely, the counter arguments seem to follow a similar pattern:
1. Stats is not everything ( never said it was) but I've also watched the games Otamendi also looks better
2. You are flat out wrong. (A conclusory statement with no basis)
3. We conceded once when Komps was playing ( a point clearly undermined by your truthful claim that we simply had little to do defensively the first few games) Something I by the way pointed out Early
4. You are a fool! (Attacking me and not my argument)
5. YI believe my eyes. Yes I agree. And I believe mine.
6. He is a rookie. Well that's just laughable. Even if it were true, still wouldn't change the facts.
But hey, like everyone else I'm looking forward to Komps coming back to partner Otamendi and power us to a title amongst other great things.
