Much improved upon last season so far, he's cooled down a bit and he's giving himself more than one chance to win the ball as a result. Very happy.

He looks a different player (as do the other defenders) when not having to hold a high defensive line. Dropping deeper when we don't have the ball has made all the difference. All the back 4 looked good today.

Him and Managala will be looking over their shoulders with Otamendi on the bench. Makes the competition for places very healthy and hopefully raise everyones game.

Back to his best in my opinion, absolute colossus! Great to see him answering his critics so emphatically.

Looks like he's made a conscious effort to calm down and not leap into things and making problems for himself and it's paying off big time. Him and Mangala are making a hell of a partnership, while having the very solid Sagna on the other side of him is also helping to protect him a bit. If he has changed his style to be less aggressive and lets Mangala take that role instead, then he could be around a long time.
