Thrilled for him but he'll be subjected to a much sterner test on Sunday. As will Mangala. Still really rate MDM for those kinds of matches. Very good reader of the game, even if he is a touch slow at times. You can't really drop Vinny after last night's performance, so I'd select him and MDM for the upcoming game. Just my opinion. Mind you, I'm remembering now that Mangala had maybe his best game of the entire season for us against chavs. Hmm…

Clueless.

Demichelis is not good enough in these matches. To say he is is ridiculous.

He should be back up. Mangala and Kompany should be picked together rather than Pellegrini picking his buddy.

He has the same support from me as every other player, I can't say the same for 95% of other fans who favour Kompany & Zabaleta more then everyone else!

I'd welcome the Kompany from 4 years ago that Kompany was awesome, however a lot of our fans are becoming sentimental, the same thing happened with Gareth Barry in the sense that if it was up to a large majority of blues he'd still be playing for us now.
Except Kompany still has plenty left in the tank whereas Barry, in that final season was obviously struggling.
But then if you think he's been off for three seasons there's hardly any point in trying to convince you otherwise.
There's a reason why Kompany and Zabaleta get favour by the way, it's called support. Two players who've done as much as any others, if not more to see us where we are now. Players who've got ability in spades but for one reason or other (and there are many) they've been struggling.
I've backed him throughout and look forward to him proving his doubters wrong this year.

Why change a winning side?
I doubt Pellegrini will.

He won't. If Kompany is fit he plays. Mangala will have been given a massive confidence boost after his performance on Monday as well, as will Sagna and Kolorov. Any changes on Sunday will be further up the pitch.

Still waiting for the perfect picture of last nights celebration... One from behind him where you can see the fans!

Always something special when a player celebrates with such passion as that.

Yet people called for Joe Hart to be replaced and constantly slagged him during his few months of a bad spell, you get where I am going with this?
I believe any player deserves criticism when playing badly not one rule for one and another for another, during Demi's shit start I said he would eventually show his experience and he did do, I said Joe Hart would come back from his bad few months and he has, about 2 years ago I told everyone Vinnie will be back to his best and that his injuries are only causing a bad period in his game fast forward 2 years and now I just honestly can't see Vinnie being as good as he was 3 - 4 years ago which is the thing that annoys me the most..... I however would love it if Vinnie proved me wrong but a few months bad spell fine but a handful of stand out games in 3 years isn't good enough especially for Vinnies quality. Like I said though if he performs this season like he did last night I'd happily eat my words along with my hat, not to say I won't show him my support from the stands!

He, like all the playing staff get a clean slate from me going into this season. So far so good. I guess we'll readdress the situation on a weekly basis :-)

Perhaps there was too much criticism when he wasn't fully fit, but lets' not go totally the other way, based on one game, especially when in truth, he didn't have that much to do.
The fact remains that he missed 15 games last season, and 10 the year before. We all want him back to his imperious best, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Maybe some fans are sentimental I don't know about that or how many blues would still want Gareth Barry playing for us and I definitely don't know where you're getting the 95% of fans favouring Zabaleta and Kompany over the likes of Silva and Aguero either.

i don't see how the Kompany and Gareth Barry situation compare to be honest. Kompany is not at the same stage of his career as Barry was when he left.
