Re: Bony signs - official

Might sound harsh, but surely it should be Jovetic who leaves, he has shown glimpses of what he can offer but not enough - too many injuries for my liking, Dzeko although he can be a lazy bastard at times ;) He still scores important goals.

So if Jovetic is took out of the CL squad, that would spell the end of his career with city i would think

The new beast - except younger, fitter, faster, stronger... better.

We really are going to be a scary proposition for other teams with our forward line.

Shirley some blue on here can get a song together for him that will include the words Wilf and Milf, and lines about laying on balls and scoring,
where's all the artistic types when you need them...

Brilliant!

Re: Bony signs - official

Very good signing, we have lacked physical presence up front since Negredo left.

Good signing for me but I hope he doesn't go back to 4-4-2 as for me we are better with one up top.

Likely to spell the end for either Dzeko or Jovetic if we do go one up though.

I would previously agree but we MUST play 4-4-2 with Sergio playing slightly off Bony.

We never had the right forward to compliment Sergio, now we do.

Someone who works from the front and can also drop into the hole.

We should appreciate that our previous deficiencies in 4-4-2 will be less exploited by opposition defences who now have to factor in both Bony and Aguero.

That was never really the reality with Jovetic or Dzeko, who both turn over possession in a variety of ways.

Perhaps with Negredo's defending from the front, we looked more accomplished.

Totally agree with this assessment. Question is, would you have the balls to play this way against Barca?

That's a bloody good question and one that thankfully, I don't have to make.

It's also one made easier with Yaya suspended.

Answer for me is yes, with the Ferna's having a busy night on their hands, but Bony and Aguero will cause them all kinds of problems.

If Yaya was available, it becomes a toughie.

Re: Bony signs - official

For all those doubting him and his goal scoring, if he scores only 10 goals for us in 2015 but every one is a match winner would he be worth the money?

I think an interchangeable 4-5-1? - with Sergio playing essentially as the extra midfielder running at Pique and Mascherano from deep.

Bony MUST start and he has enough to keep both central defenders occupied. His hold up play and return passes for Aguero and Silva will be pivotal.
