He will be in the starting 11 for palace away where last season he was MOTM
Again, your'e looking back predicting he will start because he was MOTM last year.

If you believe he will be picked on that basis, there's no point discussing it with you.

He'll be picked because he's one of city's best players!!

No point going on with this. We differ

Re: Player topic: Yaya Toure (2014/15)

He's a club legend no doubt but for us to be moving forward especially in the champions league we can't be carrying any passengers, he angered people on here with his performances against Burnley and Barcelona and that won't change as he's not getting younger unless he has a big change of attitude, the games against Roma and even against West Brom showed how much more balance we have when he's not in the team, I can't remember one counter attack from the weekend even if they were horrendous and I can remember only one in Rome where Gervinho got through.

On his day he can decide a game but how many of them have we seen this season? His goals against Sunderland, Everton and Swansea contributed to wins but he hasn't done much else, for some reason we seem to play better with him in the side but there has to be a time for him to go and I believe this summer is the time when we can get £20m+ for him and get one of the only replacements available in Pogba. The only other option is to do what some people are saying on here by moving him forward, but that means a change of formation, but with Pellegrini apparently likely to stay for next season, it doesn't seem very likely.

Anyone defending Yaya needs to give their head a wobble and look at the difference in attitude between Yaya and Aguero.

Aguero couldn't have had a worse game against West Brom, no matter what he did he was never going to score but he kept fighting, worked even harder than normal and chased back after each and every mistake.

When things don't go Queen Yaya's way the toys come out of the pram, he slams the ball on the ground, moans at the referee and sulks like a 3 year old girl.
Anyone calling Yaya, especially with this stupid sheep lazy myth fuckin saying thing needs to give their heads a serious fuckin wobble. He has been our greatest player since many decades and pushed us over the line for titles and trophies, which we would've cocked up without him !
Just think what we would have won if we had 11 players instead of the 10 and a traffic cone (Yaya) we currently have. And as for jumping on the bandwagon, I think you'll find posts dating back years of mine slating the lazy twat.

So much ignorance in last few pages that it probably is not even worth replying to.

Yaya playing style can confuse people into thinking he is "lazy". But do you know last year in 30 games, he lead the team in distance covered? Guy leads in total passes, top in goals and assists, covers the most distance on the team (he is top in the league as well), plays 30 out of 38 games, and some guy named "fatbloke" calls him lazy twat? Just mind boggling.

So walking and making very little effort when your team loses the ball and your fellow teammates are all busting a gut trying to get back behind the ball is a style??? He's is either lazy, incapable of running back to defend or he thinks he's above putting in the graft and doing the dirty side of the game for the team ...

Re: Player topic: Yaya Toure (2014/15)

the things we have won have been a big part down to yaya he won us the fa cup and 2 premier leagues and league cup when he was needed he stood up and made it happen

but we should not stand still and if yaya wants out then move him on don't make him play when he is not giving 100% ok give him a send off but make top 4th first by keeping him on the bench until then don't play him

but thank you yaya and fans will always love you

Care to provide some sources for those stats, please?

Toure was bad before the African Cup. Now he seems worse . For the pounds we pay per week we least expect him to put a shift in. If he was carried off after 60mins due to exhaustion so be it nobody, i hope, would criticise him.
As for people saying playing 2 defensive midfieders to accomodate him ahead assuming your playing a back four that's 50% of your remaining players gone just crow bar in one. Other options are surely better
Not if he turns out to be an attacking force. Not saying he'll definitely be an ace at it but we should try it out to see if he can. His holding capacity and passing is still top notch plus he occasionally blasts a brilliant shot in.
My thoughts based on this season performances is that he'd use this as an excuse to be even more lazy, don't get me wrong I like the guy, but it took till 90+ minutes for him to do one of "his runs" v Liverpool, Lets start seeing these runs from the first 5-10 mins of a game. One MOTD pundit put when Toure runs at you like that there's nothing anyone can do about it . SO why wasn't he doing it from minute 1 in the barca game. Even played more upfront you still have to run and show desire. Give me link to a performance this season when dzeko, nasri and toure have been taken off due to physical exhaustion.
I'd take Bony>Dkezo, Milner>Nasri and Fernandiho> Toure. Anytime. SOrry for the bas grammar just been to dentsist and had 2 teeth removed.

Amazing for player who does pretty much everything you want out of football (score, pass, run, etc) and he does it at high level, people still can call him lazy twat. I understand rationale that says City need to transition Yaya out of the team, but calling him lazy is just ridiculous. Do you know how hard it is to make yourself available to complete that many passes, and cover that amount of distance for guy who is that big?
