As conflicted about Toure's potential departure as I was about Tevez's.

Personally I think we should offer him as much money as it takes to get him to stay. Will be the kind of loss which we won't truly feel until he's gone. And then it'll be too late to do anything about it.

Post of the day..

It will need 2 players to do the things he is capable of...
I understand the comment "It will need 2 players", but we can't do that, assuming he's going, and I am assuming that, we need to find a different player to replace him, and use our other assets to adapt to his loss. We are not a one man team, we can win when he isn't playing, we'll adapt, that is what all great teams do when they lose a great player.

Spot on that Cleavers. What we will need to replace sooner rather than later is Toure's passing ability. It's the one thing which worries me about losing Toure and Nasri in the same summer, is that those two have been integral to our ball retention and our passing efficiency in the last four years.

It's not an exaggeration to say that we need to rebuild our midfield entirely from the ground up if we're losing Toure, Nasri, and Milner.

Keep him or sell him, the Yaya of 2013/14 has already gone. This often seems to be overlooked.

Alas, I have to agree. When it comes to reviewing who to keep, we should be asking whether a top player can maintain the highest level of performance, or whether a player can still develop more. If the answer to either is no, then adieu.

Its a big ask isn't it ? We also need to reduce the age of it too. I don't know who is out there that can be brought in, lots of names, but getting the right ones, then getting them to gel, and gel with the rest of our team, though I'm confident that we will.

This is why I found Pellegrini's comments about not needing major surgery puzzling. Which ever way you look at it we're going to be short multiple top class players. Toure, Milner, Nasri, Dzeko, Lampard and Jovetic. If replacing all that isn't major I'm not sure what is!

It's a huge ask, especially when you consider just how integral Toure, Nasri, and Milner have been to our squad over the last four years. It's going to take multiple players but I expect that the club know that. The noises are that we're going to spend and spend quickly. You would think that there's a clear idea of which players they want in which positions.

Managers rarely say "yeah we're definitely going to sell loads of players and buy loads of new ones". His comments were just standard straight bat stuff. If for no other reason than we're going to want as much money as we can get for players like Dzeko, Nasri, and Jovetic if and when we come to sell them.

Absolutely agree with you on Yaya. Can't believe so many are dismissing him as if he has nothing to contribute. I consider him to be pivotal still
