I will defend Yaya to the hilt on his football as I have but on this he is completely wrong. Imagine the trouble if a African born European national was denied top awards because of birth . If Yaya had made a case for his leadership and performances for CDI etc I could understand his case but based on the nationality it's wrong.

Most probably know I rate him highly still and will defend him from those who think he is lazy and past it (because I think he still has a tonne to offer) but I can't really defend some of his actions off the pitch. He is a grade A mard arse. He didn't deserve to win the award. Plain and simple. Regardless of what Ivory Coast did. They receieved their award for their achievement.

+1
you guys are two of the staunchest Yaya defenders... that says a lot that you can't support him on this one... no one can...

pep allowed yaya to leave Barca when he was hitting his peak years. Ok he had a brilliant player in busquets waiting in the wings but to still allow him to leave was a bold move!
yaya and his agent probably know what peps arrival means for them!!!!! Yaya will be 33in the summer and I don't think his "laid back" style suits pep at all!

On the other hand pep could use him as a proper holding midfielder, like he does alonso at Bayern!

What's clear is that yaya and his ratty agent are shitting its

Sorry Yaya as a holding midfield player isn't at Alonso's level. I just hope the Yaya saga doesn't drag on and spoil his legacy.

Seluk is a gobshite, but not really sure what he's trying to achieve with those comments?

But when Yaya arrived here, Mancini didn't give him the job of owning the midfield. There were usually grafters or def mids around to do the leg work.

Undermining pep already as he knows that yaya is under threat when pep arrives imo

I realise that he fears for Toure's future when Guardiola comes, just don't get what he thinks his comments will achieve. It's not going to make a difference to Guardiola's decision on Toure. Just seems like getting a cheap shot in early, with no discernible benefit to his client.
