I think people let their perception of Toure's actual position within our team cloud their judgement of him at times. Because he spends a lot of the game taking the ball from the centre backs in between our defence and midfield I think people expect him to become an anchorman when he lose the ball. If we actually had somebody who could control the game from a deeper position, he wouldn't actually need to be that deep to begin with. It's like we want to him to be a deep lying playmaker or tempo setter, as well as be an anchorman, but then we also want him to press or man mark somebody, but then we also want him to score 15-20 goals a season. If we actually had a deeper midfielder who could take the ball and set up possession, we could utilise Toure further forward, behind Aguero where he is a double figure Premier League goal-scorer, and a reliable ball retainer. Obviously to do this, we would probably have to lose one of Silva/KDB/Sterling, with the obvious one being Sterling.
Or just sign a deep lying playmaker and pack him off to New York.
