Odd, you're the 2nd person to claim that Ya Ya didn't play against Spurs...he did, he came off early 2nd half....if you're talking about the 1-4 game that is?
I think he's trying to point out that at the point Toure made way, we were two one down courtsey of a Willy Caballero error but lost every sense of order, calm and composure afterwards. Last season this argument was very much alive. Only difference is while some argued in favour of a Fern+Fern combo (now we know better)
we are now calling for Fern+delph. I'd
rather play all three at this rate not because I must somehow shoe-horn him into the team but because he's got special qualities that we need

I think Yaya's playing well at the moment. It's not his fault he's outnumbered in midfield so often. Yet he takes responsibility for possession (nobody else does in the squad - Nasri maybe but we've barely seen him this season) and is still coming up with big contributions to attacking chances.

At Stoke he didn't play and we had the same problems as when he does yet is moaned at for.

Agreed. He was trying hard yesterday. Folks were not moving especially our full backs who stayed back an awful lot yesterday. Often we are totally reliant on our full backs to provide chances.

Incidentally I find it incredible that the goal has been officially given to Iche.
He knew nothing about YaYa's shot that WAS on target and would have finished in the BOTTOM left hand side of the net bouncing 2 feet in front of the keeper at PACE with an outstretched dive rather than the top left WITH reduced pace.

Yaya didn't play vs Spurs or Stoke. We had the exact same problems in those games that Yaya is accused of causing.

If you think Delph is a better option than Yaya then you probably don't really understand the game. Ourmost successful midfield combination is Yaya/Fernandinho by far. We probably need another player to make it a three in the bigger games, not because of Yaya but because a three man midfield is harder to play through in general.

Our defensive problem is a team one. We don't defend as a unit and not enough players put in a shift. At Barca, even Messi, Neymar and Suarez help defend from the front. We don't do that.

Those that blame it on Yaya are thinking way too simplistic. He's the only player on the level of Silva in terms of keeping hold of the ball and linking up the play. Pirlo wasn't a defensive monster either but he played a similar position to Yaya because of those ball qualities.

Hahaha, fucking classic line.

You explain what Yaya was doing in the first clip shown on MOTD of our game yesterday. He's goal side of his man on the halfway line who plays a ball out wide, Fernandinho goes across to cover so he slips it back inside - why is Yaya's man 5 yards in front of him under absolutely no pressure? He's just allowed him to walk, not sprint, walk past him to pick a perfect pass to split Otamendi and Mangala.

Again, second half. Fernandinho losses possession on the left, Yaya stands there, literally fucking stands still like a fucking statue with Delph having to cover two options and Mangala subsequently having to launch himself to try and intercept all because Yaya didn't drop back 4-5 yards into position next to his midfield partner.

Why? It's not just yesterday, its every single game without fail. Better teams will destroy us.

unfortunately pace, energy and aggression trail technique (passing, intelligence, etc) in the pecking order when you consider must-have qualities for central midfielders. Ever wondered why the best CMs in the world aren't necessarily the fastest or most aggressive
but the most intelligent. Alcantara, Xavi (in his hey days), in the epl Carzola, etc. Even the ones that are known for aggressiveness also have a great deal of technique about them (Veratti, Gundogan a couple of years back, Koke). So for me it's brain over brawn every day of the week. The earlier we realize that we are
short in CM the better for us. The most important thing about a CM is completeness. You can't have one set of qualities and be far behind in the other and still be a force to reckon with. With all due respect, based on what I've seen Delph play so far, I'm not sure that we'd be able to control games if we use Fern+delph combo. I'm no sorcerer but I guess fate would prove me right or wrong.

There's a huge difference - they all work their bollocks off out of possession with the exception of Carzola where incidentally Arsenal have a similarly porous defence to us.

Last two games Yaya's work effort has gone up a level and long may it continue.

Swansea controlled the game and Yaya spent most of the game picking the ball off the central defenders.
That is what he should be doing, he has the best passing range at the club, and he is the least mobile of our players, when he sits there and uses the ball we are better. We brought him to the club as a defensive midfielder, he's done a lot more than that, but now his legs are fading, he should be reverted to a position where he doesn't need to chase about the pitch.

Has Yaya shagged fat bloke's missus? Blimey fella your hatred is worrying!

Nope, he's done far worse and disrespected my football club on several occasions. He's welcome to the missus though, as long as he replaces her with a dishwasher and some device which can work a washing machine.
