Hardly news , it was obvious that players wouldn’t be back with it being a World Cup year , the problem lies with whoever decided to start the season so early and having a pointless international break in September
 
so de bruine,kompany,stones,delph,sterling,walker return after chelsea.
 
The whole football calendar is a nonsense why should clubs suffer because of the international tournaments? It affects the league competitions and some clubs more than others More importantly players health

I think it should pan out better, if we start a bit earlier and finish a bit later, at least the players won't be going on holiday straight after the tournament, those that get knocked out earlier get a bit of a break.
The summer before and after will be clear so the whole squad should get proper rest and pre seasons for 2 years running.
